Unknown nationality.

History
It is a direct descendent of the Sloughi, the Arab whippet brought to Spain by the Moors during the Middle Ages. It was crossed with the English Greyhound to improve the breed for hare coursing. 

Description
A flexible slender animal, born for speed. With a distinguished, even aristocratic air, it needs plenty of exercise.

Character
Calm and serious, it is wary of strangers, although always surprisingly obedient and sensitive with the family. A good friend to its master.

Use
At the height of its popularity it was always the breed chosen for the hunts of the King’s court. This brave dog never hesitated to search out and kill prey, even dragging it from burrows. Nowadays, in addition to being used as a good sheepdog, it is also used for hunting in coursing competitions. It is also used, of course, as a runner at dog tracks, along with greyhounds and whippets.
